In my opinion personal growth is all about developing those all important leadership qualities. It is also about developing in your areas where you can use some growth.
The ability to go inside yourself, take an honest look and assess those areas where you would like to improve. The more you do this, the bigger the rewards. There is no need trying to protect your ego in this area because it will only hinder your growth both personally and professionally.
Personal growth comes down to seeking out resources that will help you improve on your weaknesses. And by doing this you are naturally coming from a place of strength. It takes confidence, desire and willingness on your part.
But why do so many people let their growth and education end after school is over? The word commencement means the beginning. Life is all about growing and maturing everyday.
Here are a few simple ways to grow into the type of person you see yourself being. That you that is already there, just waiting to be developed.
Step #1 To Personal Growth
Listen to something on personal development daily for 15 minutes a day. You can do this while driving to work or on the bus or train. They say that over the course of two years this is the equivalent to a bachelor’s degree. Who said growth stops after you’ve graduated.
It takes 21 consecutive days of doing something for it to become habit. Begin doing this today and you’ll be glad you did.
Step #2 To Personal Growth
Pick up one new book and read it on the subject of personal growth and development. If you can start out with just one book per month you’ll see major improvements in this area. You’re whole outlook will be different. You’ll start to see the world different as you grow. Things that used to be hard you will start to take on with a newfound optimism. Challenges won’t get in your way that used to hold you back before.
Step #3 To Personal Growth
Attend seminars and trainings in this area. I have personally been so many seminars on personal development that I have lost count these days. One of my favorites was the Dale Carnegie Trainings. But there are a bunch of them out there. Just seek and you will find. They’re a great way to submerse yourself into personal development. Most of these programs have trainers and speakers that have a lot of this stuff figured out.
Just by starting a program for yourself on personal development your whole life will change. Relationships with your family and friends will improve. Your self image will improve. Your business will do better and you’ll be taking life by the horns. And watch how your leadership skills improve in the process.
